Evaluation question seven: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in progression from it to the full product?

We feel that our preliminary task was a success, and that overall we learnt a great deal from it. The aim of the task was to gain a better understanding of the filming and editing process, especially in regards to continuity, match on action, the 180 degree rule and "shot reverse" sequences- essentially, learning to effectively express the narrative. 
 In the filming process, we learned just how important continuity is: here, we had left this chair out of place from a previous cut. Because the footage we needed to use following this had been filmed prior to that particular cut, there was a continuity error; and the resultant footage was jarring to watch and appeared unprofessional- thus we had the refilm the footage, this time making sure that the prop was in the right place and that continuity was upheld.
