Preliminary task

                                              Preliminary task 


" Continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule."

Within the preliminary exercise we were asked to demonstrate and  three key techniques seen commonly in films which ultimately seek to display a sense of realism and continuity within the film. These techniques are as follows.


Match on action


Match on action shots are essential to the level of continuity and logical progression within the plot of the film.  Essentially, a match on action shot is used to successes the action of the previous shot; following through with whatever had occurred. As an example of this; if a
